Version 2.4 has been designed to work with Part 1: Definition of Messages of the Electronic Release Notification Message Suite, Version 4.3 and adds significantly enhanced support for immersive audio and classical music. Version 2.4 also details how standalone clips, taken off a sound recording or video, can be commercialised.

Version 2.3 significantly updated and changed the handling of classical music. It also addressed changes to the handling of allowed value sets and immersive audio. 

Version 2.2 added support for audio books and audio dramas and updated the DJ mix profile by adding the ability to send Track Releases. Version 2.2 was designed to work with Part 1: Definition of Messages of the Electronic Release Notification Message Suite, Version 4.2.

Version 2.1 updated the requirements for the identification of Track Releases. Version 2.1 was designed to work with Part 1: Definition of Messages of the Electronic Release Notification Message Suite, Version 4.1.

Version 2.0 of Part 2: Release Profiles of the Electronic Release Notification Message Suite was created specifically for use with Part 1: Definition of Messages of the Electronic Release Notification Message Suite, Version 4.0.
