2 Organisation of the document

This document has twelve clauses and two annexes. The first five clauses provide an introduction, the normative references that are an integral part of this standard, the core definitions and the nomenclature that are used in this part of the ERN standard.

The sixth clause defines fundamental rules about using the Release Profiles as well as defining the various Release Profiles, including their variants and how they are to be communicated in a NewReleaseMessage. The remaining clauses describe further rules that apply to the use of the release profiles when creating messages in accordance with the ERN standard.

Annex A provides informative release notes and Annex B provides a link to a set of sample messages and samples of structured classical work albums.
