7.3 For releases
The following common rules shall apply to all releases in all profiles defined in this part of the ERN standard:
Any main release intended for consumers shall be identified by either a
GRid
,ICPN
or aProprietaryId
. Other identifiers may be provided in addition.Track Releases shall be identified by either a
GRid
,ICPN
or aProprietaryId
.If a record company or distributor is considering the use of an ISRC as an identifier for a Track Release, it shall be communicated as a
ProprietaryId
.Track Releases should be identified with an identifier unique to the content and the context (i.e. the main release it has been taken from). This can be achieved by, for instance, concatenating the ISRC identifying the Track Release's
SoundRecording
and theICPN
of the main release.There needs to be a
ReleaseLabelReference
for each territory for which a deal is provided.A
CLine
may be communicated where applicable. If aCLine
is provided, the DSP shall ingest it.At least one
ReleaseDate
orOriginalReleaseDate
(the former is preferred) shall be provided for the release if the record company or distributor has the information available.A
