9 Additional rules for Track Releases

TrackRelease shall meet the following rules:

  1. The ReleaseId for the Track Release should be unique in the context of the main release in which it is grouped.

  2. Thus if the same sound recording (or video) is part of two different main releases, the two TrackReleases containing that SoundRecording (or Video) shall have two different unique ReleaseIds, even though the two TrackReleases contain the same SoundRecording (or Video) resource.

  3. The TrackRelease composite shall contain:

    1. The Primary Resource that also appears as one of the resources in the main release that the Track Release is communicated with; and

    2. No Secondary Resources.

  4. The Track Release shall meet all rules defined in Clause 7 to the extent that this is possible with the XML Schema Definition of the TrackRelease composite.

  5. Notwithstanding the above, title information shall only be provided if it differs from the title information provided about the resource referenced from the ReleaseResourceReference.

Note: additional information on release identifiers for TrackReleases is available in the Knowledge Base.
